New Approaches to Providing Food Aid

Instead of distributing food or cash on people in need, Mercy Hands and World Food Programme - Iraq adopted the approach of employing the breadwinners of needy families in short-term jobs aimed at beautifying the city of Basra and rehabilitating its public facilities.

At the beginning and end of each working day, workers receive awareness lectures in different areas of life that contribute to building their capacity as individuals and benefiting the community at large.
