Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid is a non-governmental not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization that works in conflict-torn and disaster-affected areas to save lives, sustain human rights and restore a healthy community. We serve people in need, regardless of their religion, sect, ethnicity and/or political affiliation. We aspire to live in a society where justice prevails, law rules, individual and group rights are preserved, differences are acknowledged and welcomed, people work together to develop and sustain resources for future generations, and manmade disasters are virtually nonexistent.
MH is implementing a livelihood project, funded by UNDP, in the city of Basra. The second output of this project aims at implementing eight vocational training courses in sectors of construction, culture, ecotourism and eco-sustainable tourism; twelve business training workshops; and two job fairs. In order to implement such activities, MH is looking for one janitor who will keep the vocational training center in clean and orderly condition.
The janitor is responsible for cleaning and keeping in order the vocational training center.
Keeping assigned areas clean and in order
Work successfully with other employees and follow supervisor’s instructions
Comply with safety rules and procedures and with covid-19 prevention measures
Other duties as assigned
Qualification & Preferred Skills:
Minimum Education: No training required
Minimum Experience: No specific experience required, but a previous experience in a similar position would be an asset.
Working knowledge of both Arabic, written and spoken
Ability to perform physical tasks and sometimes to lift and carry heavy objects
Ability to work in a team and comply with superior instructions
